Short Bio
Yaroslav Shulatov is originally from Khabarovsk (Russia). He previously worked at Hiroshima City University and Kobe University, and also was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Tokyo, Harvard University and Hokkaido University. His major is the modern history of Russia and Japan, his current research focuses on the Russo/Soviet-Japanese and international relations in East Asia from late 19th century to the first half of 20th century, which includes the issues related to Korea, China, Mongolia etc. He is particularly interested in the diplomatic and military aspects, as well as cultural exchange and economics in international relations.
