The 14th East Asian Humanities Forum

Waseda University Research Institute for Letters, Arts and Sciences Annual Forum 2022

Conference Theme

“East Asian Humanities in the Post-COVID-19 Period: Development and Prospects”

The impact of Covid-19, which has plunged the world into an unprecedented situation, shows no signs of abating, and the prolonged epidemic has brought about previously unforeseen circumstances in various aspects of people’s lives and society. In the midst of this ongoing emergency, what path can the humanities take and what are the prospects for our future? Now is the time to look at the state of the humanities in East Asia, and to constructively discuss what we, as researchers and educators in the humanities, should and can do in this region. We hope that the discussions in this forum will shed light on the directions that East Asian humanities may take in the post-Covid period and create various possibilities.
