It's been quite some time since the emergence of these monstrous entities known as generative AI. Are you using them correctly? Generative AI, which has become indispensable for almost everything, is like a power suit that enhances human capabilities. Just like a power suit that enhances physical abilities, misuse can lead to accidents.
First and foremost, you should prioritize protecting your own privacy when using these tools. Because you'll be consulting with them about anything, a breach of privacy is especially dangerous. If you use them without changing any settings, your interactions with the generating AI will be used to improve the AI's intelligence. For example, your interactions could potentially appear in other people's results. This is something to be very careful about. By the way, in ChatGPT, you can do this by turning off the "Improve the model for everyone" option, and in Gemini, by turning off the "Gemini Apps Activity" option.
Furthermore, it's relatively easy (though not guaranteed) to determine whether a sentence was generated by a generative AI or not. If you submit a report entirely written by a generative AI, your teacher will find out. If that teacher doesn't approve of using generative AI, it will undoubtedly be treated the same as cheating. Please read the syllabus to find out if you're allowed to use generative AI. Some subjects restrict or even prohibit its use. Why prohibit it? For example, to ensure you learn properly by not skipping cognitive effort. It's not always best to ask about everything. When you don't understand something, do you ask your friends or teachers about everything? No, you should think about it yourself first before asking. This kind of behavior will help improve your own abilities.
We hope that you will consider how to interact with generating AI and that it will become a power suit for your mind.
