Having overcome the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, WASEDASAI 2023 will be fully restored with no restrictions on visitor numbers or food and beverage sales. It is a humbling experience to be part of the organization of a university festival that typically attracts 200,000 visitors each year. In this context, as a member of the WASEDASAI 2023 organization staff, I thought about what WASEDASAI is all about.
"The origin of Waseda culture"
This is the answer I came up with. Everyone is in the spotlight and can express what they want to do. I think WASEDASAI is a space where you can experience Waseda culture firsthand, created by Waseda students of all ages.
Many people have supported us in holding WASEDASAI 2023. Participating organizations and participants, local residents including the shopping district, alumni, business people, guests with ties to Waseda, media reporters, and visitors... We hope that by having many people attend, the hopes of everyone who has worked hard to make the festival a success will come to fruition. This is my dream as the public relations officer.
The catchphrase for "WASEDASAI 2023" is "Yume Hibike." We hope that the dreams of Waseda students who are devoting themselves to something, and the passion with which they pursue them, will remain in someone's memory and that this will become a place where new dreams can be woven. This is the sentiment behind the slogan. Everyone has a dream hidden in their heart. We hope that the long, long musical score that is "WASEDASAI 2023" will be a place where the harmony of these dreams can be played out. And that these dreams will resonate widely and become the catalyst for someone to take a step towards tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you at "WASEDASAI 2023."
