Do you know what a tenugui is?
Tenugui is a traditional Japanese cloth that is fast-drying, portable, comes in a variety of seasonal designs and has countless uses. It has been deeply rooted in Japanese culture since ancient times, used not only for wiping but also wrapping, draping, sewing, and decorating.
This time, we will have Nakani Ltd. as a guest, a dyeing company in Osaka, which continues to preserve the traditional hand-dyeing technique of “Chusen”, born in the Meiji era in Osaka. They will give a lecture on tenugui and chusen techniques, as well as a workshop on many various uses of tengui.
Every participant will get a chusen tenugui of their favorite design as a present!
With the tenugui, you will actually make various things such as plastic bottle holders and tissue box covers and learn about its versatility!
Just by having a tenugui, it can be handy in various aspects of daily life, including disaster survival.
Why not experience and enjoy the value of tenugui for yourself?
