Waseda University aims to establish itself as an international research university (“A Waseda that Shines on the World Stage”). To strategically grow and develop our research activities, we have established the Research Enhancement Head Office (headed by the Waseda University President), which bundles research/education promotion functions and research support functions.
The Research Enhancement Head Office is central to our efforts to realize carbon neutrality, as part of our efforts to contribute to achieving the SDGs, and we are promoting wide-ranging university-wide research, leveraging our strength as a comprehensive university.

We will strategically promote research and education activities that provide economic and human incentives and contribute to carbon neutrality, and turn researchers chosen from among the four KPIs of (1) papers, (2) Ph.Ds., (3) external funding, (4) social contributions into top level PIs.
