About center

Center's Organization and Operating Structure

The Center aims to become a core implementing organization in the WASEDA Carbon Net Zero Challenge 2030s roadmap drawn up by the University. To that end, we will implement various measures related to carbon neutrality through a top-down approach under the President, with the Provost serving as the overall supervisor and the Center’s Director taking on a central role. In the implementation of measures, top-level researchers of Waseda University shall be appointed as principal investigators (PI), and research and education activities that contribute to carbon neutrality shall be promoted strategically. Top-level researchers refers to researchers selected based on four KPI: (1) Top 10% for net zero-related papers, (2) number of doctoral candidates, (3) external funding, and (4) social contribution, and they are granted financial and personnel incentives.
