An IRL (in real life) summer entrepreneurship program helping students

1、Program Overview
DMZ Basecamp is an 8-week intensive student incubation program that helps young entrepreneurs create tech solutions to growing social or economic gaps in society.
At Basecamp, students tap into their potential and learn how to develop and market business ideas with the help of other young innovators, industry mentors and successful entrepreneurs. This is an opportunity for students to start real companies and gain experiential learning opportunities to apply what they’ve learnt and solve the world’s biggest problems.
The DMZ, based in Toronto, Canada, is a leading startup incubator equipping the next generation of leading tech entrepreneurs with the tools needed to build, launch, and scale highly impactful startups.

3、Conditions for a grant recipient from Waseda
In addition to the program application criteria; <https://dmz.torontomu.ca/basecamp>
- Doctoral students who are expected to be enrolled in the next fiscal year (students and full-time researchers).
- The student must apply for the PoC Fund Type S for the next fiscal year.
- The student must write a report about once a week during his/her stay and cooperate in publicizing the program on the Entrepreneurship Center’s website.
- Present the results of their participation in the program at an event organized by the Entrepreneurship Center or other organizations at Waseda Univ.
- Obtain permission from the supervising professor regarding the application.
On the condition that the above requirements are met, Waseda University Entrepreneurship Center will subsidize 500,000 yen for one selected student as part of the travel and accommodation expenses.
4、Application process
Applicants for the program should carefully read the application guidelines at the following website and apply directly to the program. When doing so, please be sure to state clearly that you are applying from Waseda University. One applicant will be selected from among the applicants from Waseda University by DMZ’s screening process.

6、Fee:
✓Program participation fee: Free of charge for one selected Waseda student.
✓Regarding accommodation, Toronto Metropolitan University international office could arrange accommodation for the selected participant.
If they would like to stay inside our campus, the cost to stay per night for single occupancy is $59 and double occupancy is $69, tax-exempt.
