【I】 Purpose of the research
On the new ideal way of the infant education in the modern society, the development problem of the infant, the development of teaching material and teaching method of the infant education, the examination centering on the infant cooperation, and the establishment of the basic theory and the construction of the new infant education system are promoted. Research scientists and experts and practitioners in the educational field collaborate to advance search and practice. This institute will again form a team based on the results of research on early childhood development and teaching methods at the Institute for Early Childhood Education, which was established in FY2008. More than 10 years have passed since the institute was established at that time, and the practice of early childhood education has greatly developed.
On the other hand, the following points were pointed out: ① insufficient examination of the practice from a specialized viewpoint; ② insufficient specialized examination of the linkage and continuity with the educational system, in particular with primary education, and the increasingly divergent divergence; ③ the critical role of early childhood education in the entire educational system was strongly pointed out from the viewpoint of the development of children’s abilities and qualities in particular, but specialized examination leading to practice was not sufficient; and ④ as the external environment surrounding early childhood education drastically changed, there was a strong demand for the establishment of the institute and the examination and execution of research practices.

While focusing on the development research of teaching methods and teaching materials, and with an eye on early childhood collaboration, the aim is to theoretically examine and establish countermeasures against contemporary urgent issues of early childhood education, and to implement and realize concrete mechanisms and plans in society.
