2022 Waseda Brussels Office Annual Conference : “an incredible opportunity to exchange views on various topics”

After 2 years of covid crisis, the Waseda Brussels Office was happy to welcome back to Brussels our colleagues from Waseda University for the Annual Conference on “New technologies and Regulation in Japan and Europe”. This one-day in person event was held on September 13th, 2022, and gathered around 80 people from interdisciplinary fields throughout the day.

The attendees were welcomed by Prof. Masahiko GEMMA, Vice-President for International Fundraising of Waseda University (Japan) and Prof. Anne WEYEMBERGH, Vice Rector for External Relations and Cooperation of University libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). They could listen to a number of panel presentations, policy roundtables and an eminent keynote from the EU Commission throughout the day. In total, eighteen speakers from more than eight different countries took part in vibrant discussions about the regulatory dialogue surrounding technological innovation.

  

 

Ambassador Masaki made closing remarks, reaffirming the importance of interdisciplinary approaches when discussing on the relationship between new technologies and regulation.
