Report of Summer School “Mathematical Analysis of the Navier–Stokes Equations: Foundations and Overview of Basic Open Problems”

cime_05
We held a summer school “Mathematical Analysis of the Navier-Stokes Equations: Foundations and Overview of Basic Open Problems” at Cetraro (Italy) from September 4 through September 8. This event was organized by CIME (Centro Internazionale Matematico Estivo: International Mathematical Summer Center) and partly supported by the Mathematics and Physics Unit, “Multiscale Analysis, Modeling and Simulation”, Top Global University Project, Waseda University.

The summer school gathered around 40 participants from all over the world and exciting lectures were performed by the four celebrated researchers of the Navier-Stokes equations: Prof. G. P. Galdi (Univ. Pittsburgh), Prof. M. Hieber (TU Darmstadt and Waseda Uni.), Prof. H. Kozono (Waseda Univ.), Prof. J. Robinson (Univ. Warwick). There were lively discussions during the summer school and it was a very meaningful 5 days for participants.
