Overview

U.S.-Japan Research Institute (USJI) was founded in 2009 and is now in its 12th year. USJI has decided to end its activities by the end of March 2021. We will hold a Commemorative Symposium as a culmination of activities centers in Washington, D.C. U.S.-Japan relations have changed significantly since USJI was founded. At this Symposium, lectures will be given by panelists and speakers from various fields such as companies, governments, and universities who have created and supported USJI. Discussions will be held from three perspectives: politics, economy, and higher education, with the theme of the next ten years surrounding US-Japan relations.

We would like to invite all of you who have experienced and supported USJI’s activities and those globally interested in US-Japan relations. The Symposium will be held online in consideration of the current social situation. We hope that this Symposium will provide everyone to consider the future relationship between Japan and the United States from diverse viewpoints and follow the trajectory of USJI.
