    Dear Faculty, Staff, and Researchers,<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    The Japanese government has announced a change of policies regarding mask<\/span>–<\/span>wearing <\/span>as a preventative measure against the spread of Covid<\/span>–<\/span>19. Mask<\/span>–<\/span>wearing will now be left <\/span>up to each individual<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s discretion. Furthermore, as the Covid<\/span>–<\/span>19 situation in Japan ha<\/span>s <\/span>shown signs of relatively settling down, we will be easing the restrictions for on<\/span>–<\/span>campus <\/span>events starting from April 3.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The rules and considerations when holding events:<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Events organized by the university<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s departments, faculty and staff, or events <\/span>org<\/span>anized by an external organization but hosted on university grounds, can admit <\/span>maximum capacity provided that the following conditions are met:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        \n
      1. Thorough infection prevention measures, such as health management, handwashing, and hand-sanitization<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Although mask-wearing will be left up to each individual\u2019s discretion, depending on the type of event, we may encourage mask-wearing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
          \n
        • Dining will be permitted if the following infection prevention measures are strictly <\/span>followed:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
            \n
          1. Although mask-wearing will be left up to each individual\u2019s discretion, please refrain from talking loudly while eating and drinking.<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. Thorough hand sanitization<\/li>\n
          3. Compliance to the infection prevention rules set by each venue\/restaurant<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
