The Sydney Tomonkai<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>

\n<\/span>The Sydney <\/span>Tomonkai<\/span>, <\/span>established<\/span> in 1982, is a vibrant community of more than 70 <\/span>Waseda<\/span> alumni, students, expatriates, and permanent residents living in Sydney, Australia. Through monthly social gatherings, annual meetings, golf competitions, and other events, members build friendships and support one another across generations, professions, and backgrounds. <\/span>The group was recently featured in <\/span><\/span>Waseda<\/span><\/span> Gakuho<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>the<\/span> bimonthly magazine published by the <\/span><\/span>Waseda University Alumni Association<\/span><\/span><\/a> (WUAA). <\/span>Get to know the Sydney <\/span>Tomonkai<\/span> community through reflections from its chairperson, vice chairperson, and members, and discover what makes the <\/span>Waseda<\/span> alumni network in Sydney so specia<\/span>l by<\/span><\/span> visit<\/span>ing<\/span> the WUAA website here<\/span><\/span><\/a>.

Waseda\u202fUniversity deeply values our alumni as\u202fimportant members\u202fof the\u202fWaseda\u202fcommunity, and we are known for having produced many changemakers throughout our history, including eight prime ministers and many leaders in business, science and technology, literature, sports, and film. As we approach our 150th\u202fanniversary in 2032,\u202fWaseda\u202fis re-connecting with our alumni and sharing with them news of the exciting new projects we have on the horizon through\u202fWaseda\u2019s<\/span>\u202f<\/span>Vision 150<\/span><\/a>, our strategic plan to establish\u202fWaseda\u202fUniversity as a leading global university by 2032 and beyond.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To do this, we are working closely with the WUAA. Established in 1885, the WUAA is a vast organization of alumni that supports the\u202fUniversity and current students, helps alumni stay in touch, and builds strong connections with more than 600,000\u202fWaseda\u202falumni in Japan and around the globe. There are currently around 70 overseas \u201c<\/span>Tomonkai<\/span><\/i>\u201d or alumni organizations who welcome both new members and visitors!\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
