Global Universities for Societal Impact (GUSI) is a strategic alliance of globally engaged universities committed to maximizing their collective impact through purposeful international collaboration.<\/p>\n

Established in 2023 by the University of Bonn, Emory University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of St Andrews, and Waseda University, GUSI brings together institutions united by a shared vision: to advance excellence in research, education, and innovation while contributing to meaningful societal progress worldwide.<\/p>\n

Our Mission<\/h1>\n

GUSI is dedicated to cultivating meaningful international collaboration that strengthens the global influence and strategic priorities of its member institutions. By fostering long-term partnerships, launching joint academic initiatives, and coordinating responses to shared global challenges, GUSI enables universities to generate knowledge and create opportunities that serve the broader public good.<\/p>\n

The alliance is grounded in a commitment to academic excellence, societal impact, and responsible innovation. Its current thematic focus\u2014Artificial Intelligence\u2014shapes collaborative projects from 2024 to 2027, providing a dynamic framework for interdisciplinary engagement and exploration. In 2026, the University of Bonn will host an international workshop dedicated to this topic.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0University of Bonn<\/a>\u00a0is one of eleven German Universities of Excellence and leads with eight Clusters of Excellence. In recent decades, it has produced more Nobel laureates and Fields Medal winners than any other German university. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem<\/h2>\n
