On<\/span> March 30<\/span>, 2026, Professor Deborah Terry AC, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Queensland, visited Waseda University with Mr. Brett Lovegrove, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global Partnerships), University of Queensland, and Ms. Keiko Yanai, Director of Research Partnerships, North Asia (Japan), Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The delegation met with\u00a0<\/span>Aiji<\/span>\u00a0Tanaka<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>President of\u00a0<\/span>Waseda<\/span>\u00a0University<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span> Masahiko Gemma, Vice President for International Affairs, and Kate Elwood, Dean of the International Affairs Division<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>discuss<\/span> current engagement and future collaboration between the two universities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Since signing a partnership agreement in 2002, Waseda University and the University of Queensland have maintained active exchange for students as well as faculty and staff.\u00a0 Both institutions have actively promoted research and educational collaborations over the years through the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) , <\/span>a network of leading universities in the Americas, Asia, and Australasia bringing together thought leaders, researchers, and policymakers to exchange ideas and collaborate on practical solutions to 21st-century challenges, and Universitas 21 ( U21), an international network of 30 leading research-intensive universities founded in 1997.<\/span><\/p>\n
