The\u00a0Brazil\u00a0Tomonkai<\/span><\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Brazil\u00a0<\/span>Tomonkai,<\/span><\/i>\u00a0located\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>S\u00e3o Paulo, celebrated its 70<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0anniversary this year. It<\/span>\u00a0is\u00a0an excellent\u00a0example of an active\u00a0Waseda\u00a0alumni organization building community overseas through a shared connection to the University. The\u00a0group\u00a0was\u00a0recently featured in the\u00a0Waseda\u00a0<\/span>Gakuho<\/span><\/i>, a magazine released once every two months by the\u00a0<\/span>Waseda University Alumni Association<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(WUAA). \"\"Waseda\u00a0University deeply values our alumni as\u00a0important members\u00a0of the\u00a0Waseda\u00a0community, and we are known for having produced many changemakers throughout our history, including eight prime ministers and many leaders in business, science and technology, literature, sports, and film. As we approach our 150<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0anniversary in 2032,\u00a0Waseda\u00a0is re-connecting with our alumni and sharing with them news of the exciting new projects we have on the horizon through\u00a0Waseda\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Vision 150<\/span><\/a>, our strategic plan to establish\u00a0Waseda\u00a0University as a leading global university by 2032 and beyond.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To do this, we are working closely with the WUAA. Started in 1885, the WUAA is a vast organization of alumni that supports the\u00a0University and current students, helps alumni stay in touch, and builds strong connections with more than 600,000\u00a0Waseda\u00a0alumni in Japan and around the globe. There are currently around 70 overseas \u201c<\/span>Tomonkai<\/span><\/i>\u201d or alumni organizations who welcome both new members and visitors!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
