{"id":86930,"date":"2025-12-22T09:25:34","date_gmt":"2025-12-22T00:25:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/?p=86930"},"modified":"2025-12-22T09:46:51","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T00:46:51","slug":"the-21st-korea-japan-millennium-forum-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/news\/86930","title":{"rendered":"The 21st Korea-Japan Millennium Forum Held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 21st Korea\u2013Japan Millennium Forum was held over two days on December 2 and 3, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Forum brings together presidents, vice presidents, researchers, and students from four leading private universities representing Korea and Japan\u2014Korea University, Yonsei University, Keio University, and Waseda University\u2014each year, with the aim of further strengthening cooperation among educational institutions in both countries and invigorating academic and research exchange. The Forum was launched at Waseda University in 2002, and has since been hosted annually on a rotating basis by the four universities.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of this year\u2019s forum was \u201cHumanities at Risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the Presidents\u2019 Session, participants engaged in candid discussions on the present and future of the humanities under this theme, addressing the shared challenges faced as well as the initiatives being undertaken by the four universities . The session also explored how humanities education can be preserved and further developed.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon Researchers\u2019 Session and Students\u2019 Session, the theme was intentionally reframed as \u201cHumanities at Risk?\u201d to invite critical reflection. Free and creative discussions were held on the significance of diverse fields, incluidng as literature, philosophy, history, and the arts, in the age of AI.
