In the 2025 edition of Japan\u2019s “Truly Strong Universities\u201d rankings (Weekly Toyo Keizai), Waseda University was ranked second overall among 562 national, public, and private universities nationwide for the second consecutive year.<\/p>\n

According to this ranking, Waseda University is particularly highly rated for its international strength, with key contributing factors such as the number of overseas study partner institutions and the ratio of foreign faculty members, as well as its admissions quota ratio.<\/p>\n

The “Truly Strong Universities\u201d ranking is a multifaceted evaluation of a university’s overall strength based on 13 objective indicators, including educational and research capabilities, employment potential, financial strength, and international strength. It is a ranking that aims to reveal the underlying strength of a university that cannot be measured by entrance exam deviation scores.<\/p>\n

The top schools for 2025 are as follows:<\/p>\n

1st place: University of Tokyo
\n2nd place: Waseda University
\n3rd place: Keio University
\n4th place: Kyoto University
\n5th place: Tohoku University<\/p>\n
