In particular, he reflects on the medium specificity of manga and the challenges it poses to translation, as well as his hybrid translation process, which relied on the Japanese text as well as Kafka\u2019s German original. Informed by translation studies, his research examines the conceptualization of endings in modern Japanese literature.
