On the 18th of December 2023, Waseda University hosted a notable event: “Let’s Talk about the Future of Waseda with the President.\u201d At this rare gathering, approximately 80 students had the opportunity to engage directly with President Aiji Tanaka, a distinguished former professor and the current president of the University.<\/p>\n

The event commenced with President Tanaka reflecting on the pandemic years at Waseda University. He highlighted the university’s strategic approach of \u201cMinimizing Maximum Regret\u201d and adherence to the Sustainable Development Goal principle of \u201cLeave No One Behind.\u201d The esteemed weekly news magazine Sh\u016bkan Asahi (\u9031\u520a\u671d\u65e5) recognized these efforts as exemplary, awarding Waseda University the top rating in COVID-19 response. Echoing the founder’s words, \u201cBe a person who gives willingly not only to an individual, family or a nation, but also to the entire world.\u201d President Tanaka articulated the university’s goal to be a global leader in society through education, research, and societal contribution. He emphasized that these three pillars support one another, forming a synergistic triangular relationship.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
