{"id":77856,"date":"2023-05-11T15:54:50","date_gmt":"2023-05-11T06:54:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/?p=77856"},"modified":"2023-05-11T16:12:19","modified_gmt":"2023-05-11T07:12:19","slug":"ubs-waseda-nobel-laureates-symposium-%e3%80%8cnobel-perspectives-live%e3%80%8d-special-event-in-japan-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/news\/77856","title":{"rendered":"MIRAI 2.0 NEWS: Co-authored paper by Waseda faculty to be published on Genus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-77862 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/20230509_MIRAIlogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"189\" height=\"255\" \/><br \/>\nA co-authored paper based on findings of a joint research project by Waseda University and Ume\u00e5 University has been accepted for publication on Genus, one of the oldest demography journals in Europe. <a href=\"https:\/\/w-rdb.waseda.jp\/html\/100001162_en.html\">Professor Haruko Noguchi<\/a> of the Faculty of Political Science and Economics, and <a href=\"https:\/\/w-rdb.waseda.jp\/html\/100001511_en.html\">Assistant Professor Rong Fu<\/a> of the Faculty of Commerce participated in the joint research project.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-77861 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/20230511_Faculty-610x343.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/20230511_Faculty-610x343.jpg 610w, https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/20230511_Faculty-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/20230511_Faculty.jpg 1146w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The research project began as part of Waseda University\u2019s participation in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirai.nu\/\">MIRAI Project<\/a>, a joint research promotion program between Japan and Sweden. The paper, titled \u201cConvergence and persistent contrasts in the determinants of working-age women in Sweden and Japan living alone since the 1990s,\u201d is co-authored by Professors Glenn Sandstr\u00f6m and Mojgan Padyab of Ume\u00e5 University, a MIRAI university.<\/p>\n<p>In addition,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirai.nu\/ri-week-2023\/\"> the MIRAI 2.0 Research and Innovation Week<\/a> will be held at Ume\u00e5 University in Sweden from November 13 to 17, 2023. The program is now accepting applications for hosts or presenters in the field of Ageing, Material Science, Sustainability, AI, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The MIRAI Project was launched at the Japan-Sweden University Presidents\u2019 Summit in October 2015 to strengthen long-term research collaboration between universities in Japan and Sweden, as well as to promote universities in Japan and Sweden. 11 universities from Sweden and 9 universities from Japan, including Waseda University, participate in this project.
