Waseda University\u2019s Intercultural Communication Center (ICC)<\/a> has started a new podcast that features student, faculty and staff voices from the Waseda community!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the goal of connecting members of the community from different backgrounds and perspectives, ICC hopes the podcast, titled Voices of Waseda, becomes a space to explore the cultures and values of those at the university.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this student-led initiative, the first episode of the podcast is hosted by ICC student staff leader Iroha Okuhara, from the School of Culture, Media and Society (CMS), who was the driving force behind the production\u00a0of this podcast. Iroha is also joined by fellow staff leader, Yuki Endo, from the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS), who helps co-host the episode.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first episode features Amy Metcalfe, a 2nd year master’s student from the Graduate School of International Culture and Communication Studies (GSICCS) from Cork, Ireland. Amy shares her thoughts on how languages influence the way we think, and talks a bit about her ongoing research and the connection she is discovering between words in the Japanese language and its effect on the perception of beauty.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At Waseda University, there are many unique people hiding in plain sight. They have diverse backgrounds, deep insights, and life stories to share. This podcast aims to provide fresh perspectives about the world from our very own students in Waseda. <\/span><\/p>\n
