University Response to Novel Coronavirus-infected Pneumonia<\/p>\n

As reporting for the past several days has indicated, there have now been confirmed cases within Japan of the novel coronavirus that originated in China, and the virus continues to spread.<\/p>\n
At present, there have been no confirmed reports of novel coronavirus at Waseda; however, it is necessary for all members of the Waseda community to take extreme precautions to avoid infection. Because the situation continues to change on a daily basis, we ask that you seek out the latest information available from reliable sources such as the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare website.<\/p>\n
If you personally begin to experience symptoms such as fever, please promptly undergo an examination at a medical facility. In addition, in the unlikely event that you are confirmed to have contracted the virus, please inform the University immediately by contacting the office of your affiliated department.<\/p>\n
On January 30, the University convened the Novel Coronavirus-infected Pneumonia Countermeasures Session to determine university policies regarding the virus, such as infection prevention measures and the University\u2019s response in the event that the virus continues to spread. Please be aware that you may receive alert notifications from the University depending on how the situation develops going forward.<\/p>\n
