According to the\u00a0QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2018<\/a>\u00a0published on September 12, Waseda ranked No.26 once again for graduate employability in the world, making it the top private university in Japan.<\/p>\n

The ranking is calculated from measures of reputation among employers, alumni outcomes, and partnerships with employers, employers’ presence on campus and graduate employment rates. The result shows Waseda’s success in relationships with employers in research and other projects, as well as exceptional performance of its graduates.<\/p>\n

Waseda is the top private university in Japan for graduate employability for the third year in a row, and 5th in Asia. Measuring the success of Waseda graduates, the rankings are also an objective evaluation of the various efforts made by the University following the Waseda Vision 150 strategic plan. One of the plan’s major goals is to foster global leaders. Specifically, the University aims to double the number of international students to 10,000 and have all of its students study abroad before graduation. To educate and guide the leaders of tomorrow, Waseda University is dedicated to making innovative reforms as leading university in Asia.<\/p>\n

“The QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2018 listed as No.26 in the world for two conservative years. This is the third year QS has released a ranking based on employability and it has been gaining recognition and attention from around the world. For the first time, world\u2019s prestigious universities such as Harvard and Yale joined in the list, but even so Waseda University continues to be ranked highly against these world class universities. It suggests that our graduates as well as the University\u2019s effort in working closely with organizations continue to receive high valuation.<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to \u201cIndependence of Learning\u201d and \u201cPractical Utilization of Knowledge,\u201d \u201cGood Citizenship\u201d is one of the founding principles of Waseda University. By \u201cGood Citizenship,\u201d the University is committed\u00a0to fostering enlightened citizens of altruistic nature who will be active in and contribute to society at large, not based on personal or selfish gains.
