Over 1,200 papers were submitted and 2,000 participants attended this pivotal conference, which leads academic research related to robotics and mechatronics. All presentations were organized into poster sessions, securing quality time for discussions between researchers and participants. Moreover, this conference does not only offer a venue for presenting cutting-edge research but provides an opportunity for academia, businesses, and the government to exchange ideas for collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>The Division Contribution Award is dedicated to those who have significantly contributed to the field of robotics and mechatronics as an individual or an organization. Professor Iwata acted as General Chair at the International Conference on Advanced Mechatronics (ICAM) hosted by the robotics and mechatronics division of Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers in December 2015.
