Students who walk refer to the commute as the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EGn3G-hhkUg\" target=\"_blank\">Baba Walk<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EGn3G-hhkUg?showinfo=0&amp;controls=0\" height=\"640\" width=\"100%\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wasedaweekly.jp\/upload\/488\/%E5%8A%A0%E5%B7%A5_%E6%97%A9%E7%A8%B2%E7%94%B0%E9%80%9A%E3%82%8A%E3%81%AE%E5%8F%A4%E6%9C%AC%E5%B1%8B%E2%91%A0.jpg\" width=\"252\" height=\"165\" \/>Used book stores, ramen shops, and restaurants have lined Waseda Dori for decades. Local residents cherish a Jizo statue that grants wishes and looks after the community, and people visit the statue to pray for fertility, easy childbirth, healing, and support on entrance exams.<\/p>\n<p>Students do the &#8220;Baba Walk&#8221; even in cold weather.
