Waseda athletes Natsumi Hoshi, Daiya Seto, and Kanako Watanabe took home three gold medals at the 2015 Fina World Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia. On September 8, Waseda President Kamata invited the three athletes to Waseda Campus to celebrate their outstanding accomplishments.<\/p>\n

\nWaseda Swim Club Manager Keisuke Okuno<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe three individuals standing here all won medals at this year\u2019s world swimming championships. Although they won four medals for Japan, each medal is a testament to their own, personal hard work. I believe this tournament was a showcase for Waseda and its powerful athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Natsumi Hoshi (Women\u2019s 200m butterfly gold medal winner, 2013 Waseda graduate)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI won a bronze medal at the London Olympics 200m butterfly competition, but this time I was finally able to win the gold. I am proud to be from Waseda and am incredibly happy to be here together with two other Waseda athletes. I hope to report another victory at next year\u2019s Rio de Janeiro Olympics!\u201d<\/p>\n

Daiya Seto (Men\u2019s 400m individual medley gold medal winner, third year Waseda student)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI am happy to be here with a gold medal after my second consecutive win in the 400m individual medley competition. My dream of participating in the Olympics has come true and I hope to come home with a gold medal next year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kanako Watanabe (Women\u2019s 200m individual breaststroke gold medal winner, 200m individual medley silver medal, first year student)<\/strong><\/p>\n
