Along the way is Sekiguchi-bashoan, a historical landmark where the famous poet Basho once resided. On the premises are numerous slabs with haiku inscribed into them including Basho&#8217;s famous &#8220;Frog Poem.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The ancient pond<br \/>\nA frog leaps in<br \/>\nThe sound of the water<br \/>\n<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(Translation by Donald Keene)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Between Waseda Tozai station and the Kikuicho campus is Natsume Hill, where at the top you can find the birth place of the iconic writer Natsume Soseki.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">In front of Waseda campus&#8217;s north gate is Ground Hill. Ground Hill&#8217;s name derives from the Abe Baseball Stadium where Waseda&#8217;s baseball team could be seen practicing and competing.
