The auditorium was at full capacity with approximately 230 students, faculty, and guests who gathered to hear from the former Waseda Law School graduate.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_27850\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-27850 \" alt=\"\u6e80\u54e1\u306e\u71b1\u6c17\u306e\u4e2d\u3001\u6765\u5834\u8005\u304c\u8033\u3092\u50be\u3051\u307e\u3057\u305f\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/06\/a6ca73835330c12b02aa8ee37798c77c-610x404.jpg\" width=\"366\" height=\"242\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/06\/a6ca73835330c12b02aa8ee37798c77c-610x404.jpg 610w, https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/06\/a6ca73835330c12b02aa8ee37798c77c-2000x1324.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 366px) 100vw, 366px\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Enthusiastic visitors packed the auditorium to hear from Yoko Hayashi<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Centered around the 30<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of Japan&#8217;s ratification of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, Hayashi discussed issues regarding gender equality while highlighting turning points such as Waseda graduate Keiko Watanabe becoming Japan&#8217;s first female lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The foremost line for gender equality in Japan is that of lawyers.
