What are employers looking for at interviews? In this article we hear from a HR representative from beverage company Kirin.<\/p>\n<h4>Speak with confidence<\/h4>\n<p>At Kirin interviews we ask students and listen closely about their achievements in university. We take approximately 30 minutes to ask questions about their motivations, experiences, and hardships.<\/p>\n<p>Many students struggle to explain why they would like to join a certain company, but we do not generally ask this question at Kirin. We use interviews to learn about the applicant&#8217;s personality, energy, and perspectives and what they can offer to the company. Therefore, I would like everyone to speak with confidence at interviews.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Advice from Career Center<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Interviewers focus on two things, the interviewee&#8217;s personality and their compatibility with the company and are looking for special characteristics that can contribute to company success. During an interview, consciously try to communicate your natural characteristics.<\/p>\n<h5>Five attributes HR looks for<\/h5>\n<p>-Results from a survey conducted by the Japan Business Federation<\/p>\n<p>Communication skills &#8211; 82.8%<\/p>\n<p>Independence &#8211; 61.1%<\/p>\n<p>Desire for challenge &#8211; 52.9%<\/p>\n<p>Cooperability &#8211; 48.2%<\/p>\n<p>Loyalty &#8211; 40.3%<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What attributes are employers looking for?
