Ambassador of Poland to Japan, Cyryl Kozaczewski, expressed the importance of encouraging youth to think about the hatred, intolerance, and discrimination experienced by many during the war. President Kamata commented, &#8220;To prevent the disasters of war from weathering from memory, I would like the youth of Japan to visit this exhibition and learn about these tragedies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ko\u015bcielniak, who depicted the experiences of Auschwitz prisoners despite certain dangers, has had his paintings entrusted to Waseda graduate Michiko Nakamura, who for twenty years, has preserved the 19 paintings and presented them at exhibitions around the world.<\/p>\n<p>On April 18, a symposium entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wasedabunka.jp\/event\/lecture\/2014\/news150214.php\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;What does Auschwitz have to teach us today?&#8221;<\/a> will be held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-24516\" alt=\"150324\u30b3\u30b7\u30c1\u30a7\u30eb\u30cb\u30e3\u30c3\u30af\u5c553\" src=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/03\/976966aa6fac579536056e0b84a05eb5.jpg\" width=\"1800\" height=\"1205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/03\/976966aa6fac579536056e0b84a05eb5.jpg 1800w, https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/top\/en\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/03\/976966aa6fac579536056e0b84a05eb5-610x408.jpg 610w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nakamura has decided to return the paintings to Ko\u015bcielniak&#8217;s homeland of Poland this year. &#8220;This will be the last exhibition in Japan. Seventy years have passed since the war, but conflicts and acts of terrorism can be seen around the world.
