Partner Agreement Concluded between WASEDA University Athletic Center and Otsuka Pharmaceutical

Tokyo, Japan―WASEDA University Athletic Center (hereinafter WASEDA University) and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. have concluded a partner agreement with the intention of promoting sports in Japan.
In the past, Waseda University and Otsuka Pharmaceutical have made major contributions to the promotion of amateur sports and sports activities in Japan. With the conclusion of this partner agreement, both institutions have embraced an even greater commitment to the training of young adolescents through sports, the improvement of sports technology, and the development of college-level sports.
Beginning last year, Otsuka Pharmaceutical has held lectures explaining proper rehydration issues, including heat stroke prevention, among all Sport Clubs at Waseda University. A similar lecture was held on July 11 of this year for students who will fill the ranks of future sports leadership positions.
In addition to the lectures held at university athletic sites, and providing necessary information about nutritional support to athletes, other joint events, such as symposia, will be held in the future as a way for both institutions to continue contributing to the future of sports in Japan.
