11,772 students graduate from Waseda

11,772 students graduate from Waseda

The graduation ceremonies for Spring 2017 graduates were held at Okuma Auditorium on March 24, 25 and 26.

In the 2016 Academic Year, a total of 11,772 students graduated from Waseda University. Out of this number, 705 of them were international students.

Valedictorians of the graduating class received their diplomas on the 24. After President Kamata congratulated the graduates, The Ono Azusa Memorial Award was presented to students and organizations that have made outstanding achievements in academics, the arts and sports.

Poet Sasaki Yukitsuna was the keynote speaker. He was presented with the University’s Award for Distinguished Service to Art.
