Waseda Jitsugyo High School baseball team will participate in the 89th National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament, also known as the Spring Koshien.

On February 16, Waseda University President met with the team’s director, coach and Captain Kotaro Kiyomiya, who has garnered media attention for his outstanding performances.

“Ever since I was small, I have always admired and been devoted to Waseda,” Kiyomiya said. “In the Tournament, I hope to inspire children and share these feelings.”

President Kamata expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming tournament. “It has been 60 years since Sadaharu Oh, Waseda Jitsugyo’s graduate and world-renowned professional baseball player, and his team won the Tournament. I’m extremely honored that this will be the 21st time the Waseda Jitsugyo baseball team will participate, and I am looking forward to your success at the Koshien Stadium.”
