Le Corbusier as a Photographer (A 50-Year Memorial Exhibition)

Le Corbusier (1887-1965) is recognized as a great master of modern architecture; however, it is not widely known that he took countless photographs as a tool for his own spatial cognition. 2015, on this 50th memorial year of Le Corbusier’s death, with a generous support of the Fondation Le Corbusier in Paris, it has become possible to release 350 of these photographs, as well as to screen a 16mm film by the architect. With these works of art, we shall organize Le Corbusier as a Photographer (A 50-Year Memorial Exhibition) from July 6 to August 2 at the Aizu Yaichi Memorial Museum of Waseda University, Tokyo, where Takamasa Yoshizaka, one of the three Japanese famous architects to study under the direction of Le Corbusier, taught as a professor.
Please visit our museum on this exceptional occasion.
Admission is free for both the exhibition and the symposium scheduled on July 11/16.
