In addition to languages from German and French to Arabic and Swahili, Ainu and Basque, there are courses to learn about the culture and history of each language area.
Many courses, such as “Iceland’s language and culture,” are taught in conjunction with the national embassies in Tokyo, providing another layer of enrichment and opportunities for learning outside the classroom.
Extracurricular activities such as Country Fests and Talk Sessions organized by Waseda’s International Community Center (ICC) add even more depth and richness to the educational experience. From the current list of registered courses:
