The Waseda Summer Session 2014 brings together 78 students from 13 countries and regions to study such subjects as politics, history and culture. International students study together with Japanese Waseda students who have recently returned from study abroad. Beginning June 21, the four-week program includes a wide variety of offerings, including business and economics, the relationship of pop culture such as Gozilla and Pokemon with contemporary social issues, the history of racial and ethnic issues in Japan, as well as field studies in rural Japan.

Waseda Summer Session 2014

The Summer Session is made possible by the Quarter system, adopted in 2013, which divides the academic calendar into four terms.

The Summer Session is led by Waseda professors and invited scholars from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and University of Texas at Austin.
