This project aims to be a place for cross-disciplinary dialogue based on the shared Anthropocene concept, an experiment in exploring new potential in the humanities by linking previously siloed specialized knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>The second lecture in this series will be presented by Karino Kayoko, a specialist on classical painting techniques and materials.<\/p>\n<h5>Speaker<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dokkyo.ac.jp\/research\/faculty\/detail\/49269498\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KARINO, Kayoko<\/a><br \/>\nAssociate professor<br \/>\nSchool of International Liberal Arts, Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, Dokkyo University<\/p>\n<p>Professor Karino was born in Tokyo in 1979. She graduated with a major in Art History from the Waseda University Faculty of Letters Department, and completed the doctoral program at the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts. Doctor of Cultural Properties. She has served as a specially appointed researcher at the Tokyo University of the Arts Social Cooperation Division (Waseda University) and as a special researcher at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo).<\/p>\n<p>Since 2021, she has been a specially appointed associate professor in the Department of Language and Culture at the Dokkyo University Faculty of International Liberal Arts. Her area of specialization is the history of Japanese medieval painting, painting techniques and materials, and cultural property preservation studies. Her publications include the books &#8220;The Mystery of Techniques for Decoding Masterpieces of Japanese Painting&#8221; (co-author) and &#8220;A Collection of Essays on the History of East Asian and Japanese Art and Place \u2013 Looking, Protecting, and Communicating&#8221; (contributor).
