The aim of this workshop is to\u00a0analyse\u00a0Jacques Derrida\u2019s two seminars on Edmund Husserl from 1963, which were published by\u00a0Seuil\u00a0in 2024 (<\/span>Du\u00a0m\u00eame\u00a0\u00e0\u00a0l’autre, Deux\u00a0cours\u00a0sur Husserl, 1963<\/span><\/i>). The first seminar, devoted to Husserl’s concept of God,\u00a0demonstrates\u00a0how God\u2014who is placed in brackets by the phenomenological reduction\u2014appears as transcendental historicity within the immanence of consciousness in both unpublished manuscripts and published works of Husserl. The second seminar focuses on the\u00a0<\/span>Fifth Meditation<\/span><\/i>\u00a0contained in Husserl\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Cartesian Meditations<\/span><\/i>. Drawing on the discussion raised by Eugen Fink regarding the problem of transcendental language, the problem of resemblance in the\u00a0analogising\u00a0apperception raised by Alfred Sch\u00fctz, and the problem implied in Levinas\u2019s critique of Husserl, Derrida devotes himself to a close reading of the\u00a0<\/span>Fifth Meditation<\/span><\/i>\u00a0from the 45th to the 50th paragraph. The discussion overlaps in part with what has been published in several of Derrida\u2019s works, yet the bulk of the discussion is found only in this manuscript.
