As global challenges to democratic norms intensify\u2014including disinformation, authoritarian resurgence, and declining public trust\u2014election observation missions and democracy support initiatives remain critical instruments for promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen participation. Drawing from case studies and regional experiences, panelists will address the intersection between observation and broader democracy assistance, including capacity-building, legal reform, civic education, and media development. By engaging practitioners and scholars, this panel aims to assess the impact of election observation on electoral credibility and democratic consolidation, while identifying opportunities for innovation and improved coordination across stakeholders.
