To address this delay and construct a stable perceptual world, the brain must predict the present. This research aims to comprehensively understand the neural coding that enables such “predictions,” focusing on the fundamental visual processing.

Education and Academic Employment

Education

2020. 3

PhD in Engineering, Waseda University

Academic Employment

2023. 4-2025. 3

JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow（Department of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo）

2020. 4-2023. 3

JSPS Overseas Research Fellow（Department of Psychology, York University）

Fields of Research Interests

experimental psychology, visual perception, visual illusion, predictive vision, size perception

Academic Publications

Takao, S., & Watanabe, K.
