To achieve this, I examine the cultural characteristics of Southeast Asia (primarily the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand) and East Asia (Taiwan and the southern Ryukyu Islands of Japan) through the study of artifacts excavated from prehistoric to proto-historic sites. Additionally, I investigate the movement patterns of widely distributed artifacts across these regions, considering factors such as trade, migration, and itinerant artisanship.

Education and Academic Employment

Education

2020

Ph.D., Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Sciences, Waseda University

2011

MA, Graduate School of Letters, Arts and Sciences, Waseda University

2009

BA, School of Letters, Arts and Sciences I, Waseda University

Academic Employment

2022-Present

Visiting Fellow, Institute for the Study of Ancient Civilizations and Cultural Resources, Kanazawa University

2022-Present

Research Associate, National Museum of the Philippines

2022-2023

Visiting Researcher, Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica

2020-2023

Post-Doctoral Fellow, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science

2017-2020

Project research assistant, Public Collaboration Center, Tokyo University of the Arts

2013-2015

Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (DC2), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science

Fields of Research Interests

Southeast Asian Archaeology, East Asian Archaeology, Maritime Networks

Academic Publications

Bellina B., Maung Sun Win, Kalayar Myat Myat Htwe, Htet Myat Thu, C.
