Around 40 researchers have been working on advanced researches in a wide range of themes and with no limitation as to field of study. The Institute is currently recruiting researchers for AY2014 as detailed below.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Recruitment Fields<\/h3>\n<p>Fields corresponding to the humanities, social science, natural science, and interdisciplinary research<\/p>\n<h3>2. Number of Positions<\/h3>\n<p>About 10<\/p>\n<h3>3. Appointment Status<\/h3>\n<p>In principle, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (without tenure)<\/p>\n<h3>4. Application Qualifications<\/h3>\n<p>Young researchers who meet any of the qualifications a. &#8211; c<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a.\u00a0Persons with a doctorate. It is desirable for the doctorate to have been obtained within 10 years of April 1, 2014.<\/li>\n<li>b.\u00a0Persons who expect to obtain a doctorate by April 1, 2014.<\/li>\n<li>c.\u00a0Persons with scholarly attainment equivalent to persons who have obtained a doctorate (persons who have a completed the full term of a doctoral course etc.) as of April 1, 2014, and who have research experience at a research institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">* Applications from women and foreigners are especially encouraged.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>5. Research Theme<\/h3>\n<p>The Institute seeks to recruit researchers who will undertake highly creative research projects that have the potential to identify issues for the future, and carve out new fields of study in the areas of the humanities, social science, natural science, and interdisciplinary research.<\/p>\n<h3>6. Duties<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\uff081\uff09Research activities in accordance with the Research Plan submitted at the time of employment.<\/li>\n<li>\uff082\uff09Researchers could teach within three full-year classes per year (equivalent to within six half-year classes).\n<ul>\n<li>\u203b\u201cOne class\u201d means one 90-minute lecture in a week.<\/li>\n<li>\u203bIf the researcher works as a Part-time Lecturer at a university other than Waseda, approval from the Director of the Institute beforehand is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\uff083\uff09Other duties include:\n<ul>\n<li>a.Attendance at meetings of the Institute<\/li>\n<li>b.Cooperation in symposiums and so on, sponsored or cosponsored by the Institute<\/li>\n<li>c.Applying for a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI) (Acquisition of public or business contract research grants or subsidies as well is desirable.)<\/li>\n<li>d.Other matters deemed necessary by the Director of the Institute<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>7. Working Conditions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\uff081\uff09It is expected that the research and other tasks at Waseda University will be the major activity of the researcher.<\/li>\n<li>\uff082\uff09Place of Work: Waseda Campus, Waseda University\n<ul>\n<li>\u203bHowever, it is possible to conduct work elsewhere such as at other campuses depending on the purposes of experiments, and field surveys.<br \/>\nRegarding Place of Work, see the related item in \u201cFAQs\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\uff083\uff09Other working conditions will be in accordance with regulations of Waseda University.\n<ul>\n<li>\u203bMaternity, parental, and nursing leave are available in accordance with regulations of Waseda University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>8. Salary<\/h3>\n<p>A salary will be paid in accordance with regulations concerning payment of salary of Waseda University.<\/p>\n<h3>9. Period of Appointment<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Three years from date of recruitment<\/li>\n<li>In principle, it will start from April 1, 2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>10. Selection Procedure<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\uff081\uff09First selection stage (document screening)\n<ul>\n<li>\u203bApplicants will be notified of selection results by e-mail or by e-mail mid August.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\uff082\uff09Second selection stage (document screening)\n<ul>\n<li>\u203bApplicants who pass the first stage should submit their principal research achievements (three or fewer, with six copies of each) and Letters of recommendation (optional) by the end of August. Requirements for the second-stage submission will be sent to applicants who pass the first stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\uff083\uff09Third selection stage (interview)<br \/>\nLate October 2013 (tentative)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u203bApplicants who pass the second stage will be notified of further information by one week before the interview date.<\/li>\n<li>\u203bTravel expenses to the interview (Waseda Campus, Waseda University) are to be borne by the applicant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\uff084\uff09Notification of Results<br \/>\nDecember 2013 (tentative)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>11. Application Documents and Application Procedures<\/h3>\n<p>Complete Online Registration Form on the website and submit the application documents specified below through use of the Online Registration Form. When the registration is successfully completed, a confirmation message will be sent to the e-mail address provided to us.
