In anticipation of the 150th anniversary of Waseda University’s founding, to take place in 2032, we created Waseda Vision 150 as a framework for Waseda University to become a place where ambitious students from around the world gather and conduct research dedicated to world peace and happiness. We intend to build upon our partnerships and networks of alumni across the globe, continue to train global leaders in various fields, and create an environment fitting for Asia’s top university.

Waseda University is number one in Japan for international students, inbound and outbound. Whether it is in the classroom or extracurricular activities, Waseda University teaches students to address questions without clear right or wrong answers in a culturally diverse environment. This year, Waseda University ranked No. 1 in Japan and 33rd in the world in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings. The high rank reflects Waseda University’s success in relationships with employers in research and other projects, and the performance of our graduates. This achievement is the result of our sustained efforts to adapt and lead in the global era and affirmation that our alumni are preserving and building upon the legacy of Waseda University.

This year’s graduates will soon embark upon the next stage of their lives in Japanese society and the world. However, it is important to remember that there is more to being a global leader than simply being active in the world. Locally or internationally, a global leader is someone that no matter their field is globally minded and dedicated towards improving relations between people of various cultures and bringing about world peace and happiness.

In a world where society is changing at tremendous speeds, today’s graduates will likely witness moments of turbulence along the way. However, Waseda University’s founding principle is to instill in its students an enterprising spirit, no matter the obstacle, and teach them to be resolute in their commitment to world peace and happiness. Today, many of our alumni are embodying this principle.

I would like all of you to exceed the accomplishments of your predecessors. To accomplish this, you must continue to learn and build character. Learning is a lifelong process. We have comprehensive education opportunities for adults and others who would like to continue their education. For those with high aspirations, we welcome you to continue learning with us at Waseda University.

Embark upon your journey with high aspirations and a global mindset Waseda University President Kaoru Kamata […]

[203
215
post-1602","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-feature-en","tag-information-en
["GET
