Goreng pisang, the name of a Singaporean type of banana fritter, is a traditional treat in Malaysia and is sold at stands throughout the country. Deep fried bananas in a thick batter, people enjoy the differing textures of the crisp and crunchy exterior and the soft and sticky interior.<\/p>\n<p>Where I\u2019m from, I regularly ate goreng pisang at street stalls, but I never thought about making my own. In making them to write this article, I was surprised by how easy it was. Why not try this southern treat the next time you find yourself hungry for a snack in the middle of the night without anything but a few bananas around?<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1018\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/weekly\/assets\/uploads\/2016\/03\/61c5e1013dcb5cdd711e619a69573b10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1018 \" alt=\"1379_\u4e16\u754c\u306e\u98df\u5353\u304b\u3089_\u3066\u3099\u304d\u3042\u304b\u3099\u308a (1)\" src=\"http:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/weekly\/assets\/uploads\/2016\/03\/61c5e1013dcb5cdd711e619a69573b10.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/weekly\/assets\/uploads\/2016\/03\/61c5e1013dcb5cdd711e619a69573b10.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.waseda.jp\/inst\/weekly\/assets\/uploads\/2016\/03\/61c5e1013dcb5cdd711e619a69573b10-290x290.jpg 290w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Singaporean Goreng Pisang<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Ingredients (Serves 4)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Egg (scramble in advance) \u2013 1<\/li>\n<li>Flour \u2013 4 heaping Tbsp.<\/li>\n<li>Baking powder, turmeric powder, salt, sugar \u2013 1 pinch each<\/li>\n<li>Water \u2013 1\/4 cup<\/li>\n<li>Bananas \u2013 4<\/li>\n<li>Cooking oil \u2013 To taste (around 500 ml)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Instructions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix egg, flour, baking powder, turmeric powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Slowly add water to mixture from 1 while stirring to make the batter. Mix until lumps have disappeared and batter is smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Heat cooking oil in a pan over a medium heat.
