Kitchen Green Peace is located about a 5-minute walk from Waseda Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line towards Takadanobaba Station along Waseda Street, and close to Waseda Campus Building No.. This is a Wasemeshi new star Western restaurant that just opened in December 2022 last year. This restaurant is run by brother chefs. The two, who had experience working as chefs at hotels and restaurants, decided to open their own restaurant when a space became available in a rental space at their parents' home. The store's name, "Green Peas", comes from their last name, "Endo" ("pea").
"Kitchen Green Peas" is very popular for its authentic Western-style lunches at affordable prices. The menu includes daily A and B lunches, as well as four standard dishes. Many of the customers are Waseda University faculty and staff, local residents, and users of the Waseda University Extension Center. However, with its convenient location facing Waseda Street and reasonable prices starting from 1,000 yen, it seems easy for students to use.

A Lunch "Florence-style oyster gratin & fried shrimp" 1,200 yen. Today's side menu is a popular potato salad with a hidden chewy texture.
This time, I had A lunch. Today's A lunch was "Florence-style oyster gratin & fried shrimp." First, let's have the Florentine style oyster gratin. The large oysters are topped with white sauce and cheese, and are grilled to a golden brown. When I tried it, I found that the creamy oysters and rich cream sauce were a perfect match. In addition to the gratin, the set also comes with two pieces of fried shrimp, and the crispy batter and juicy texture of the shrimp are irresistible.
The main dishes for Lunch A and Lunch B that I received this time are both always served as a combination of two dishes, so they are full of volume. The menu is random, but in addition to hearty dishes such as omelet rice and doria, they sometimes offer things like rolled cabbage in the winter and sautéed Spanish mackerel in the spring. For students with big appetites, we recommend the daily lunch menu with a large selection of side dishes. Additionally, all lunch menus come with rice or bread, salad, and soup. You can also get a large bowl of rice for free, so you can fill your stomach to your heart's content.

The store's number one commitment is to ``make everything by hand, down to the smallest detail.'' The tartar sauce and salad dressing that comes with the fried shrimp are also homemade. The soup that comes with the lunch menu also uses several types of seasonal vegetables. Today's soup is a potage made with sweet potatoes and pumpkin, which are in season in autumn. In addition to these two vegetables, onions, carrots, and cabbage are also used in this dish, which brings out the sweetness of each vegetable, making it a side dish that has many fans. It is highly nutritious and warms my body from the core.

"Hamburg steak" 1,200 yen
Another thing that is very popular among our regular customers is the ``hamburger steak'' that is offered as part of the grand menu. When I insert a knife into a thick hamburger steak, the juices will overflow. The taste of the rich demi-glace sauce with lots of mushrooms is an authentic taste that you can only get at a restaurant, which is hard to get at home. In addition to hamburgers, pork saute and chicken macaroni gratin are also popular.
