Volunteer Recruitment: “Arakawa River Cleanup: A Little Act of Green” (Furusato Seiso Undokai)\u2014(November 28, 2026)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The “Furusato Seiso Undokai” (Hometown Cleanup Sports Festival) began in 2007, bringing together residents, student volunteers, and others for community cleanup activities.<\/p>\n

“Arakawa River Cleanup: A Little Act of Green” has been held since 2010 and is one of the festival’s flagship activities, with more than 6,500 participants to date.<\/p>\n

This year, WAVOC will be participating as a team for the first time!<\/p>\n

Why not start by cleaning up a local riverbank while reflecting on environmental issues such as ocean plastic pollution? It’s a great chance to make a hands-on difference.<\/p>\n

First-time volunteers are welcome\u2014and international students curious about volunteering in Japan are especially encouraged to join!<\/p>\n

Arakawa riverbank near the south end of Senju-Shinbashi Bridge (15-minute walk from the west exit of JR Kita-Senju Station)<\/p>\n
