At the Center for Higher Education Studies, the \u201cProject to Develop and Establish Interactive and Student-Oriented Teaching Methods by Exploring \u2018Good Practice\u2019 inside and outside the University\u201d, which is under the fundamental pillars of Waseda Vision 150 \u201c3. Educational Content Open to the Public in Many Languages\u201d and “4. A Switch to a Style of Education that Emphasizes Interactive Problem Finding and Solving\u201d. The WASEDA e-Teaching Award is a part of this project.<\/p>\n

We are pleased to announce that the 10th WASEDA e-Teaching Award (for AY2021 courses) Lecture will be held via Zoom.<\/p>\n

Since 2012, the WASEDA e-Teaching Award has shared efforts and initiatives as Good Practices when they made use of ICT (LMS, networks, etc.) and successfully improved educational effectiveness.<\/p>\n

In AY2021, when the spring semester began with the goal of implementing 70% of classes as face-to-face, we received 22 nomination and self-nomination entries.
\nAt the WASEDA e-Teaching Award Selection Committee meeting held on January 28th, 2022, the selection criteria “enhanced learning effects”, “addressing challenges that arise in courses”, and “creating new teaching methods\/learning styles\u201d were discussed. As a results, two WASEDA e-Teaching Award Presidential Prize winners and five WASEDA e-Teaching award winners were selected for their particularly outstanding initiatives.<\/p>\n

In this lecture, 6 winners of the WASEDA e-Teaching Award Presidential Prize and the WASEDA e-Teaching Award will be speaking at the event to introduce their Good Practice initiatives that utilize ICT. There will also be opportunities for Q&A. We look forward to seeing you there.<\/p>\n

\u25c6 What is the WASEDA e-Teaching Award?<\/p>\n

The WASEDA e-Teaching Award is an award system established by the Center for Higher Education Studies with the following three objectives:
\n\u2022 Define \u201ce-Teaching\u201d as initiatives that improve educational impact through the use of ICT, specifically LMS and networks, and share Good Practice \u3000initiatives that produce results through its practical implementation.
\n\u2022 Increase the motivation of academic staff, provide better quality education, and contribute to improvements in learning through synergistic effects brought about by awarding and highlighting e-Teaching initiatives that increase educational impact.
\n\u2022 Increase transparency of the educational content at Waseda University and use this to pursue understanding and recognition of the university by society at large through the publication of the academic staff\u2019s methods and e-Teaching methods submitted to the competition as outstanding examples of education at the university.<\/p>\n
