America"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Waseda University Alumni,<\/p>\n<p>We at WASEDA USA are grateful for your continued support over the years and are looking forward to another good year in 2019. Today we are reaching out to you regarding a special event planned for May 4, 2019, which will bring together the president of Waseda University and Waseda alumni from around the US.<\/p>\n<p>On November 5<sup>th<\/sup> of last year, Professor Aiji Tanaka of the School of Political Science and Economics took office as the 17<sup>th<\/sup> president of Waseda University. Under his new leadership, we anticipate university staff and faculty\u2019s increased efforts to expand education, research and networking on an international scale, helping Waseda University attain its goal of becoming a shining example for the world.<\/p>\n<p>President Tanaka is scheduled to visit Washington DC this May and a joint social gathering for all North American Tomonkai chapters has been arranged to coincide with his visit. It will be a great opportunity to meet the president in person and hear from him directly, as well as mingle with other Waseda alumni.
